European Trips
For more information about the trips planned for this academic year 2007-2008 - click on the city names in the menu above.
The coach trips need a minimum of 45 people and trips by plane need at least 20 people signed up before they can go ahead. If the minimum number of people have not been signed up by the payment deadline; the trip may have to be cancelled. Everyone will get a full refund of their money.
Any costs you incur if you need to apply for a travel visa or for travel insurance will be not refunded, you must remember there is a chance a trip may be cancelled.
These trips are organised with no involvement or financial assistance from the University of Central Lancashire or the Students' Union of UCLan, they are organised by an individual using Adaptable Travel; an ATOL Registered Tour Company, to offer people the chance to visit new places as cheaply as possible.
If you need any extra assistance to allow you to travel on any of the trips, you will need to arrange it yourself but we can try and accommodate your needs, remember friends/ relatives and helpers are welcome to join any of the trips.
Anyone is welcome to come on the trips, as long as you pay of course!
To sign up for any of the trips, you need to see Karl who is available between 3.30pm and 5pm from Monday to Friday in the cybercafe on the top floor of the library building until the end of May 2008.
If you cannot come along during these times contact Karl and he will try to arrange an alternative time for you.
If you need a Visa to travel to any of the countries, you will need to check either the embassy or visa office website for the country to get the visa application information and form and then complete it and collect the additional documents required by the embassy.
You have to complete the details on the application form and apply for the visa yourself BUT you will be able to find online information and download forms from the Visa Office website for the country you plan to visit.
You can also click on the following link to download a Schengen visa help guide from the International Student Support Team website. If the country you want to visit is not included in the guide, you can make an appointment with an International Advisor in the <i> and they will try to help you find the information you need.
Even though the guide has been updated for this year, you will still need to check the individual country's website because the information can change at short notice and if you do not apply correctly, your visa application can be refused.
The guide plus visa websites will explain exactly what you need to do to apply for a visa including all the documents and fees needed to travel to the most popular Schengen countries:-
- Austria
- Belgium
- Denmark
- Finland
- France
- Germany
- Greece
